Sphere Defense Systems (SDS)LLC (Max Cybersecurity and Quantum Technology Group) is an 8(a) joint venture (JV) founded in 2020 combining the SBA-certified 8(a) corporation Max Cybersecurity LLC (Max Cyber), and Quantum Technology Group (QTG), to provide the Federal Government with IT and cybersecurity support. We are focused on the overlap between national security, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology management. Our dedicated team of professionals have served in national leadership roles as federal leaders and have achieved excellent past performance feedback in the commercial space. They have successfully performed on several contracts and task orders (TOs) with government agencies that include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
SDS stands ready to work together with clients in its efforts to monitor and analyze cyberspace threats, coordinate cyberspace orders among missions, and provide a liaison between internal organizations and outside entities relating to cyberspace intelligence. SDS implements the management effort, organization, processes, and methodologies needed to ensure that information systems respond rapidly to today’s evolving threats; that they are as robust as required andare built securely in a manner that meets or exceeds industry standards. Our management approach starts with an understanding of the customer’s policies and procedures. We clearly understand that this requires highly complex, cyberspace threat expertise to support increased demands for threat notifications to the mission of critical systems. We have the capability to collaborate, correlate, and communicate support between cyber and business systems, with the goal to build a plan, execute, measure, adjust the objects while meeting dates as planned. The key is to develop repeatable processes that are grounded in national and international best practices for system resilience.

Our team includes Michael A. Echols (Mike) the CEO of Max Cybersecurity LLC. He launched the company after 15 years at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Cybersecurity Director. As a DHS leader, Mr. Echols was the Representative to the NATO CCPC in Brussels. He chaired the Communications Sector’s and the International Network Security Information Exchange (NSIE) until 2014. Additionally, he managed the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), 30 Chief Executive Officer level NSTAC members representing IT, Defense and Communications companies producing policy recommendation for the President.
